Linen Closet Makeover

Anyone have a closet or space in your house that you cringe opening? Our linen closet was this space and had gotten way out of hand. So this weekend it was on! I tried to keep this project pretty budget friendly, since it literally was storing diapers, sheets and towels 😂. Below is what I used.

Supplies

⁃ 5 shipping boxes, e.g. from Amazon [free] 📦
⁃ 1 roll of contact paper [$6.49]
Plastic handles from Amazon [$16.79 for 10]
⁃ 3 hampers from Target [$12.00 each]
⁃ 4 wicker baskets from Target [$8.50 each]

The Transformation

I started by removing the last builder-grade-shelf to give me the room for the hampers. To remove just gently pull upwards to remove the nails. Then filled those hampers with most used items; toilet paper, diapers and wipes. We do a subscription through Amazon on a monthly so we have a stockpile of sorts 😂.

Next was to make old Amazon boxes into cute storage boxes! I choose this marble contact paper purchased from Target to keep it light. Simply push the box overlap into the box and cover the outside with contact paper. Depending on the box appearance, you might need to add a second layer. I noticed boxes that were brown needed one layer, but others with brighter colors (wipe container boxes) needed two. Also, I added a half of the length layer of contact paper inside the box so that it gave more of a streamline effect and didn’t look like a toilet paper box! Find the middle of the box and determine placement for handle. I used the ruler that was on the back of the contact paper to do this. I then pushed the screw into the hole from the outside to give a path and attached the handles.

Next was to fold everything ! I did the larger sheets into my two larger toilet paper boxes; rolled beach towels into the diaper boxes. Then refolded all of the towels to be uniform (highly doubt they will look like this next week , but oh well).
Pretty happy with how this came out! For less than 90 dollars I was able to organize and create a system of organization that looks pretty to the eye! Hope you can use some of these tips in your space!
